vampire, the styx, doesn't get out much ever

It had not been so many years ago that Edie did not remember what she had once been like when she was alive. Conversation had come naturally to her. She made new friends as easily as she took breath. That was exactly how she had met Felix. After she had been turned, outside interactions were frowned upon -- that was unless you were looking for a meal and even then she was forced to persuade them into forgetting they had ever met. There were only so many topics that you could discuss with two other vampires, with whom you shared every waking moment. Her skills had been tucked away somewhere deep to collect dust and every time she went looking for them, the result was extremely awkward.

vampire, revolutionary rose, crime lord & landlady

The world beyond her eyelids was bright and harsh; she had forgotten to draw the shades on the window. Nikita had forgotten a lot of things last night. The pain of the sunlight on her unprepared eyes made her head throb. She brought her hands up to cover her face and wipe the sleep from them. The skin of her cheeks was rough and covered with something. Blood. Tears. Nikita pushed herself up the bed into a sitting position. She had moved slow to keep herself from getting sick, but her motion was deterred when the pillow she had been sleeping on came up with her. The blood kept the two of them fused together and removing it felt as though Nikita was removing a layer of skin from her face. It was little more than an annoyance when compared to the ache in her every nerve. She looked around the room, from the bed to the floor and down to her clothes. It looked as though someone had been murdered; Nikita wished that that had been the case.

air elemental, level five, mute twin, former prostitute

Aetheria would never admit it out loud, or really dwell on the fact for very long, but it was quite difficult to be mute after having spent the better part of her life with a voice. She missed being able to laugh out loud, or sing, or speak her sister's name. The connection they shared on such stormy days not only brought them together, as Aetheria felt they were always meant to be, but allowed each of them to give the other what they were lacking; Aetheria's mind gave Aurora sight, and within Aurora's mind, Aetheria had a voice again. If only everyday could be a storm.

bitten were, fox, con artist & stalker

At the gesture, Marco raised his glass to meet Drina's. He paused a moment to watch her almost bring the drink to her lips before taking a long, deep gulp of his beer. His eyes shut tight as he took a deep breath. The taste was bitter, but it didn't cause him to shutter like it once had when he had begun to drink. There were few liquors in this world that could cause him to pause because of their taste. If he cared to stop and think about it, Marco would have been more concerned about what his tolerance for alcohol must have meant.

born were, honey badger, hunter & general badass

Frankie closed the gap between herself and Faith so that she was standing well within reach. “I've never done small town before. What if I can't handle it? Or worse, what if I can?” It was time to be honest with the other woman. She could dance around her feelings all day long, but there was no one that knew her better than Faith – no one. Her previous relationships had failed from a lack of opening up, but then again, Frankie couldn't have cared less about them. She reached out with the hand that wasn't cradling Sonic and brushed it against her cheek. “I never meant to make you worry.” Carefully leaning forward, Frankie placed a kiss on the skin that she had touched with her hand. Sonic made another sound. She wasn't sure if it was because he was happy or because he was afraid of getting squished between the two of them; know the hedgehog, Frankie believed it was the former.

human, psychic amplifier, hopelessly in love

Did she recognize the look in his eye or notice that he had brought a hand between them to keep her from getting closer? Of course not. She was far to entranced by the smile on his face to notice silly things like that. He was so handsome when he smiled and Daisy sometimes felt like she could get lost staring at him; it wasn't like it had never happened before. She giggled. Her frustration and anger from moments before had melted completely away. "Of course I know how to cook chicken, silly!" Her hand had left his shirt and was busy tracing patterns along the arm that was separating them. Hey, he was still touching her, which meant that she was still happy. "I did turn the switch on, but I don't think it's getting hot enough. It just doesn't like me." She turned her head to lean it against that same arm. It was true, Daisy didn't know the meaning of personal space, but why would she want to have her own space anyway when being this close to Joseph made her skin hum and her spirits lift?

born were, wolf, pack alpha

August had been looking forward to a meal with Venus since she had emailed him to make sure he was okay. Really any occasion where he got to spend time alone with her was cause for excitement, but today, more than any other, he desperately needed a lift in his spirits. No matter what Venus had said, or how insistently Farren had assured him, August still felt like the casualties his pack suffered had been his fault. No, he hadn't placed those bombs on the bridge or detonated them, but he had encouraged all his pack to be present. Were it not for their obedience and loyalty to him, there would not be so many hurt or dead. And August knew in his heart that those still missing were not coming back. Every time he had gathered the pack in the past two days, visited the families of the missing, looking at their faces made his conscience heavy. He had failed to protect them and was that not his sole purpose as an alpha?

vampire, elemental guardian of water, bat-shit crazy

'She needs her. That was why Bea was turned in the first place.' Jaladhi despised it when Peena spoke reason. Perhaps it was all for the best that her familiar kept her from angering Water, but that didn't stop her from wishing she could do as she pleased. Children, she had found, were nothing but a burden and Bea was proving to be just the same. Jaladhi did not have time to run around looking for her keep when the river was polluted with bodies and concrete; she had it in her mind that she would be able to find those responsible and punish them, that is, if she didn't have to run around town looking for the other guardian. Jaladhi returned her attention to the task at hand. Tonight she had decided that she would find Bea, whether the other liked it or not, and would bring her back home. There was work to be done, training to be had, and Jaladhi was no longer in the mood for games.
